Registration can be cancelled up to 2 weeks prior to class for a full refund. After that date your registration fee is non-refundable.

Unused registration fees will be transferred to our youth fund.

Course description:

Dive into the essentials of handgun proficiency in a small group setting. Join our beginner's training class, limited to 4 participants. Lead by AFD's certified USCCA instructor Tyler Stephens. 

Acuire the skills of gun safety, basic marksmanship, pistol manipulation/handling with your personal handgun.

Empower yourself with the crucial knowledge of self-defense, mastering the tools to protects what's yours.

This is a 4 hour class with most of it being in a classroom setting.

in addition to safety and marksmanship you will learn:

When and why handgun action occurs
Basic pistol care and storage
Detailed explanation of revolver and semi-auto pistol functions
Ammo specifications
Beginner live fire

Prerequisites: None! 

Two Options for this class:

• Regular Registration: Bring your own gun and gear. 
• All-Inclusive: AFD provides handgun rental, ammo and gear for the day.

Equipment Needed for All-inclusive class: close toed shoes and a belt

For handgun classes you will need: (Check out the AFD Online Store for the best deals on gear!)

• A semi-auto handgun and 1 magazine, or a revolver
• A holster that fits securely on your body
• Belt
• 50 rounds of ammo
• Hearing and eye protection
• Close toed shoes
• Appropriate clothing for a covered outdoor range. A hat, windbreaker, gloves are recommended on cold days.

  All are welcome to register but only students allowed in the classroom.
